Glove Care
As a goalkeeper, your gloves are one of the most important tools on the pitch. A good pair provides grip, protection, and control, but without proper care, they can wear out quickly, affecting performance and durability. Whether you're playing in A-League, NPL, local club football, or futsal, maintaining your gloves correctly will help you get the most out of them.

AFG1 AD WASH
12 AUD- 1. Wash Your Gloves Regularly
- Rinse with lukewarm water (avoid hot water as it weakens latex).
- Use our gentle AFG1: AD-WASH — be careful to use soap and other products - harsh detergents can dry out the latex.
- Gently rub the latex with your fingers to remove dirt; avoid scrubbing too hard.
- Rinse thoroughly and squeeze out excess water without wringing.
- 2. Drying Your Gloves the Right Way
Never leave your gloves in direct sunlight, on a heater, or in a hot car—this makes the latex brittle. Instead:
Pat them dry with a towel.
Let them air dry at room temperature, away from direct heat.
Never use a hairdryer or tumble dryer!
- 3. Proper Storage Between Games
To keep your gloves in top condition:
Store them in a glove bag to protect them from dust and drying out.
Avoid stacking them on top of each other—latex sticking together can cause damage.
Keep them slightly damp (but not wet) for the best grip retention.
How to Store Your Goalkeeper Gloves for Maximum Durability
1. To keep your goalkeeper gloves in top condition, store them in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and humidity. Leaving gloves in a sealed or damp environment can lead to mould, bacteria buildup, and latex deterioration.
2. After washing, let your gloves air dry for at least 24 hours before putting them away. Storing them too soon can trap moisture, causing them to become brittle over time.
3. For safe and convenient storage, we recommend using the AFG1 Glove-Boot Bag. Designed to protect your gloves from dust, dirt, and unnecessary wear, it ensures they stay fresh and ready for your next match.
